Frequently Asked Questions
A quick, plain-English overview of what EmailBreachGuard does, how it handles data, and how you can use it with clients.
Do you store the emails we check?
We store minimal logs for security and abuse prevention, but we never sell or share
your email addresses with third parties. For paid plans, you can request data deletion
at any time.
Are passwords exposed anywhere?
No. EmailBreachGuard never asks for passwords and doesn't have access
to your accounts. We only check if an email address appears in known breach databases—we
never see or store actual passwords.
Is this a replacement for a full security audit?
No. EmailBreachGuard is a simple, clear entry point to help identify if email addresses
have been exposed in breaches. It's meant to complement—not replace—comprehensive security
audits, penetration testing, or compliance reviews.
Where does the breach data come from?
We use Have I Been Pwned (HIBP), the most trusted and comprehensive breach
database available. HIBP is maintained by security expert Troy Hunt and includes billions of
compromised accounts from verified breaches.
Can I use this with my existing clients?
Yes. EmailBreachGuard is designed specifically for MSPs and IT consultants
who need simple, client-ready reports. The PDF reports use plain language that non-technical
clients can understand, making them perfect for QBRs and security check-ins.
What happens if a client has no breaches?
The report simply notes that no known breaches were found for the checked
email addresses. This is still valuable information to share with clients—it shows you're
proactively monitoring their security and gives them peace of mind.
Will there be an API?
The long-term roadmap includes an API for integrations with PSA tools and ticketing systems.
If you have specific integration needs, reach out through our contact page so we can prioritize
what matters most to users.
Is this legal or security advice?
No. EmailBreachGuard provides informational summaries based on publicly
available breach data. It's not legal advice, cybersecurity consulting, or a compliance
certification. You're responsible for how you use the reports with clients.
