These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of EmailBreachGuard ("we," "us," "our," or "the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Informational Use Only

EmailBreachGuard provides high-level breach summaries and risk scores based on available data. The Service is for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute:

  • Legal advice
  • Cybersecurity consulting
  • A full security audit or risk assessment

You are solely responsible for how you use any reports or summaries generated by the Service.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Engage in unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent activity
  • Harass, threaten, or invade the privacy of others
  • Automate large-scale or abusive lookups without our permission
  • Misuse or misrepresent breach information
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the Service

3. No Guarantee of Completeness or Accuracy

Breach information and risk scores are based on sources that may be incomplete or outdated. We do not guarantee that:

  • All breaches related to an email address will be detected
  • All breach data is accurate, current, or complete
  • The absence of a breach record means the email is safe or has never been compromised

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the three (3) months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

If you purchase a paid subscription, you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan).

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled
  • You can cancel future renewals at any time
  • Access continues until the end of your current billing period

6. Refunds

Our refund approach is described in our Refund Policy. In general, subscriptions are non-refundable except in cases such as duplicate charges or confirmed technical issues that prevent usage.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we believe you are violating these Terms, misusing the Service, or causing harm to other users or to EmailBreachGuard.

8. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, including features, pricing, or availability. Where reasonable, we may provide notice of material changes.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the laws of your state of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
